A contemporary choir for adults in Essex
I joined Southend Vox in September 2013, after having recently moved to the area.
II joined Southend Vox as their accompanist, right at the very beginning in 2009 and I have enjoyed accompanying the choir, as well as note bashing and singing ever since!
Piano playing and singing have always been part of my life and I am lucky enough to teach Music at my local Primary Academy, for Essex Music Services and I also direct a Community Choir that performs in the local area.
Through Jenny Hitchcock at Southend Vox, I regularly support the Music Man Project. A local charity and community group that provides music for adults and children with learning difficulties in the South East of England. I have joined my school band with Kingsdown School to perform at the Junior Music Festival at the Cliffs Pavilion.
I obtained my Music and Education degree from Canterbury Christ Church, a few years ago now and I enjoy the wide range of music that Southend Vox members enjoy singing, as well as the challenge of great performance and I think this is what makes our choir engaging and exciting to our members and audience alike.
Singing in a choir gives you a unique bond with your fellow singers and is proved to be good for our general wellbeing – so come join us!
