A contemporary choir for adults in Essex

I’ve been a member of Southend Vox since our founder decided that Southend needed a different kind of choir back in 2009.

I’ve always loved choral singing and missed being a part of a group of people that wanted to perform.  The first few weeks were extremely nerve-wracking but I can quite honestly say it was the best decision I ever made and I cannot imagine my life without the choir and the people that make it what it is.

Prior to Southend Vox, I studied Performing Arts and Theatre Studies at A Level.

I took dancing lessons from the age of 3 and played the flute in an orchestra.

I’ve also been known to ‘tread the boards’ with a local amateur dramatics group taking parts in pantomimes, comedies and thrillers.  Music, in one form or another, has always been a huge part of my life.

I became Chair of Southend Vox in September 2016 and I am enjoying being more involved in the background, driving forward our strategy and helping to raise Southend Vox’s profile so that everyone can see what a wonderful group of people we are!
