ABOUT US
Southend Vox Community Choir

Hey, welcome to Southend Vox!

We are a contemporary mixed-voice choir based in Southend-on-Sea in Essex.
We have around 60 members and are always looking to recruit new, aspiring singers to our group.

The term 'Vox' is Latin for Voice and boy, do we use our voices! We sing an array of pop and rock songs, musical numbers, gospel and contemporary choral pieces - listen to some of our live performances on the player here --->.
More recently some of our Chamber members added beat boxing to their vocal skills too! Our members really enjoy the variety of what we sing, as do our audiences who grow bigger with every concert. We're proud to have sold out The Palace Theatre, Southend!
Established in 2009, Vox is run by a volunteer team of skilled musicians and we are well-established in the music community of Southend. We regularly perform in events around the county and further afield, performing at many prestigious venues including; Union Chapel, The London Palladium and The Royal Albert Hall.
Some examples of our performances include:

-
July 2024 - The Londoner Hotel, We Are The City Rising Stars Awards
-
April 2024 - The Royal Albert Hall with the Music Man Project
-
December 2023 - Vox Christmas Concert at The Palace Theatre, Southend
-
September 2022 - BBC National News Live Appearance
-
November 2022 - Community Choir of the Year, Southend Music Festival

We also use our platform to raise money for various local and national charities.
