Hey, welcome to Southend Vox! We are a contemporary mixed-voice choir based in Southend-on-Sea in Essex.
We have around 60 members and are always looking to recruit new aspiring singers to our group. Whether you are a seasoned musician or have no experience whatsoever, Southend Vox has something to offer anyone with a passion for music or anyone who enjoys singing.
Musically, we sing an array of pop and rock songs, musical numbers, gospel and contemporary choral pieces - most of our members really enjoy the variety of what we sing as do our audiences who grow bigger with every concert!
Established in 2009, Vox is run by a team of skilled musicians who give up their time voluntarily, and as a result, we are well-established in the music community of Southend.
We use our platform to raise money for various local and national charities, and regularly perform in events around the county.
Southend Vox has also represented Southend-on-Sea further afield, performing at many prestigious venues including; Union Chapel, The London Palladium and The Royal Albert Hall.
Recent accolades include:
May 2020 - Choir Cake Virtual Choir Competition - Overall UK Winner
July 2021 - Make Music Day UK Competition - National Runner Up
Sept 2022 - BBC National News Live Appearance
Nov 2022 - Community Choir of the Year, Southend Music Festival
